As a landlord, it can be difficult dealing with tenants while they are living there especially if they are not the greatest tenants. However, even the best tenants can forget to clean the home/apartment thoroughly before they leave. In this article, we will be going over some of the different things tenants never clean when they leave.

Here are the things you may want to check before re-leasing your property to new tenants:

1. Baseboards

One of the biggest things that tenants never clean when they leave are the baseboards. They simply do not look at them when they leave which results in them leaving the baseboards in a messy state. This can actually look very unappealing to those that are looking at the home. Therefore, it is important to pay close attention to the baseboards and really clean them before showing off the home and/or property to new potential tenants.

2. Electrical Outlets And Light Switches

Another area where a lot of people simply do not clean especially tenants are the electrical outlets and the light switches. This can be an area of the property that a lot of tenants simply do not think to clean and therefore a lot of junk can build up in these areas. Be sure to pay careful attention to these areas when your tenants are moving out because you will want to clean these up before showing the property to new potential tenants as well.

3. Kitchen Drawers

Another area that you are going to want to pay careful attention to is the kitchen drawers. This is an area that a lot of people simply ignore and/or forget about. Because of this, they can be extremely dirty and be full of grime. A lot of people do not think to open the drawers and clean them out when they are leaving so this is an area of concern that you will need to pay attention to. You can clean these drawers with a handheld vacuum of some sort.

4. Blinds

Another area that you will want to pay close attention to is the blinds on your windows. The blinds on your windows is an area that you should pay attention to because a lot of people simply do not clean them while living there and while moving out. A lot of the times the blinds are white or light colored and it can be difficult to notice that they are dirty, but they can hold a lot of grime and dirt and should be cleaned after a tenant moves.

5. Behind/Under Refrigerator And Stove

Another area that you will want to pay attention to is behind and/or under the big appliances including both the refrigerator and the stove. This is typically a very dirty area because a lot of people do not move these appliances very frequently and therefore can build up a ton of junk and grime. This is an area that you should take note of and give special attention to when any tenant moves.
